Appearance: Vivid, bright ruby red
Nose: Cinnamon, star anise and warm spice framing strawberry, black cherry and a hint of dried violet
Palate: Juicy tannins with a coastal salinity running underneath

WINEMAKING
Aged 12 months in oak, then blended and given a few more months in bottle before release. 14.5% alcohol
PRODUCER
Ca' Marcanda, the Bolgheri estate Angelo Gaja acquired in 1996 after four years of negotiation. The name means house of endless negotiations in the local dialect
