Sourced from the sun-drenched vineyards of eastern Mendoza, our La Posta "Armando" Bonarda showcases the depth and character of Argentina's second most planted red grape variety. This artisanal wine celebrates the legacy of the Bianco family, whose generations of viticultural expertise shine through in every bottle.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep ruby-purple with captivating violet highlights, displaying excellent density and viscosity.

Nose: Bursting with ripe black cherry, plum, and blackberry, beautifully complemented by floral violet notes, vanilla accents, and subtle baking spices. Additional layers of dried herbs, tobacco leaf, and earthy minerality add remarkable complexity.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied with a vibrant core of dark fruit flavors. Approachable tannins provide elegant structure while maintaining a silky mouthfeel. Bright acidity balances the generous fruit character, leading to a lingering finish of dark chocolate, vanilla, and warm spice.

Behind the Wine

Laura Catena's La Posta project celebrates the dedicated grape-growing families of Mendoza. The "Armando" Bonarda honors Armando Bianco, whose family has cultivated vineyards in this region for generations. Grown in sandy loam soils at 700-900 meters elevation and aged for 9-10 months in French and American oak, this sustainably farmed Bonarda expresses the unique character of eastern Mendoza terroir.

Best enjoyed at 60-65°F, this wine will continue to develop beautifully over the next 3-5 years.
