About the Winery / Winemaker
Château Coudert sits atop the highest hill in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, just east of Saint-Émilion, on prized clay-limestone soils that define the Right Bank’s greatest wines. Owned by the Cartes family since 1961, the estate entered a new era under the current generation with the appointment of Jean-Philippe Fort—longtime right-hand to Michel Rolland and famed winemaker of Château Angélus. Fort’s influence brings depth, precision, and a signature silky power to Coudert’s wines, enhanced by aging in 90% new French oak.
