A juicy, chillable Mourvèdre bursting with energy and verve. This playful yet precise red from Lucius Wines is made for spontaneous evenings, summer hangs, and everything in between.
Taste | Lively and bright, this “Chill-vedre” brings a wild mix of tart red cherry, cranberry, and pomegranate, laced with hints of pink peppercorn, wild herbs, and a subtle earthy twang. The carbonic portion adds lift and crunch, while the direct-press juice brings freshness and zip. Light-bodied, low-tannin, and built to be served with a slight chill—this one practically begs to be enjoyed outdoors.
About the Winery/Winemaker | Lucius Wines is the experimental offshoot of winemaker Andrew Latta, a tribute to his great-grandfather and a platform for creative exploration. With roots in some of Washington’s most respected vineyards and an eye toward minimal intervention, Lucius Wines showcases what’s possible when tradition meets innovation. This 2024 Mourvèdre is sourced from Upland Vineyard (est. 1917) and high-elevation Oldfield—two historic Yakima Valley sites.
Why We Love It | It’s fresh, it’s fun, and it’s totally unexpected. This isn’t your typical Mourvèdre—it’s a light, juicy, and highly crushable red that’s built for year-round enjoyment. We love the balance of fruit and funk, the thoughtful winemaking, and the story behind the label. Whether it’s around the firepit or by the lake, this bottle brings the good vibes.
