Experience Washington State's finest with K Vintners' 2020 Motor City Kitty Syrah, a 98-point masterpiece from the acclaimed Oldfield-Boushey Vineyard. This world-class Syrah showcases intense dark fruits, savory complexity, and remarkable aging potential.

INTRODUCTION | K Vintners' 2020 Motor City Kitty Syrah stands as a testament to Washington State's exceptional 2020 vintage. Crafted by renowned winemaker Charles Smith, this single-vineyard Syrah from the prestigious Oldfield-Boushey Vineyard has earned international acclaim, including placement as #31 in James Suckling's Top 100 Wines in the World.

TASTING PROFILE | The 2020 MCK Syrah captivates with its profound depth and complexity. The wine reveals layers of explosive dark cherry and huckleberry fruit, complemented by savory notes of black olive and grilled herbs. The palate demonstrates remarkable tension between power and elegance, showcasing both intensity and precise balance. Notes of chocolate, cracked pepper, and dried lavender emerge with air, while a distinctive mineral character adds complexity throughout.

VINEYARD & WINEMAKING | Sourced exclusively from the high-elevation Oldfield-Boushey Vineyard in Yakima Valley, this wine benefits from the site's southwestern exposure and volcanic sandy soils. Three distinct Syrah clones (383, 174, and Joseph Phelps) contribute to its complexity. The winemaking approach emphasizes natural processes, including native yeast fermentation and whole cluster inclusion, followed by 21 months aging in French oak puncheons (25% new).

VINTAGE NOTES The 2020 vintage represents a pinnacle for Washington State winemaking, characterized by an extended, temperate growing season that allowed for optimal ripening. These conditions produced wines of exceptional focus, complexity, and vitality, with reds showing particular elegance and tension.
