Layered, lush, and classically styled, this Carneros Chardonnay brings California ripeness and Burgundian finesse into striking harmony—with orchard fruit, spice, and creamy richness that lingers long after the last sip.
Taste | Aromas of lemon-lime zest, roasted nuts, butterscotch, and toasted oak lead into a palate of golden apple, marzipan, pear, and citrus peel. Medium to full-bodied, it’s textured yet fresh, with a rich mouthfeel, bright acidity, and a subtle thread of spice and toast through the finish.
About the Winery / Winemaker | Founded by Bruce and Barbara Neyers, Neyers Vineyards is rooted in old-world tradition and California character. Winemaker Tadeo Borchardt sources from three prized vineyard parcels in the Sonoma side of Carneros, crafting this Chardonnay with a natural, hands-off approach. Whole-cluster pressed and native yeast fermented in François Frères French oak barrels, the wine spent ten months aging on lees to develop depth and the signature “noisette” (hazelnut) character prized in top-tier Burgundies. Bruce Neyers’ long-standing friendship with Jean-Marc Roulot—one of Meursault’s finest—has also helped shape Neyers’ stylistic vision.
Why We Love It | It’s opulent without being overdone. This Chardonnay achieves a rare balance of richness and restraint, carrying its creamy texture and vibrant fruit with grace. A worthy white for any Chardonnay lover, it stands shoulder-to-shoulder with wines twice its price.
