Black cherry and currant with notes of forest floor, fresh herbs and a savory, earthy edge. Medium-bodied and soft, with polished tannins and a warm, lingering finish. Drinking beautifully now.
About the Winery/Winemaker
Château Confidence belongs to Dominique Befve and his wife Pia, whose names appear on the label as viticulteurs. Dominique spent years at Château Lafite Rothschild and Duhart-Milon, then ran Château L'Évangile in Pomerol before becoming the long-time general director of Château Lascombes in Margaux. In 2005 he created this small estate of his own on deep gravel, in a pocket of vines surrounded by Château Palmer, Rauzan-Ségla and Cantenac Brown.
Why We Love It
Margaux is the most perfumed and elegant corner of the Médoc, and this is a rare chance to drink a small-grower Margaux with serious pedigree behind it. It is ready to open tonight. Pour it with steak, lamb chops or a hard aged cheese.
