This expressive Pinot Noir exemplifies the distinctive character of the Carneros region, which spans the cooler southern portions of both Napa and Sonoma Counties. With its elegant balance of bright fruit and subtle complexity, this wine respects Burgundian tradition while celebrating the unique qualities that California's climate and terroir bring to this noble grape variety.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Brilliant ruby color with translucent edges
  • Nose: Aromatic with notes of red berries, subtle spice, and hints of earth
  • Palate: Lively, focused and well-balanced, this wine lifts tangy raspberries and juicy black cherries with bright acidity and a light touch of tannin. Cardamom, clove, and black pepper nuances add beautiful complexity for an elegant finish

Winemaking Process | This quintessential Carneros Pinot Noir sources fruit from prestigious vineyards spanning both sides of the appellation. Beckstoffer Vineyards in Napa-Carneros and Sangiacomo Vineyards in Sonoma-Carneros provide the foundation for this wine, with fruit from Frank Family's estate Lewis Vineyard rounding out the blend. This careful selection of vineyard sites captures the full expression of the Carneros region.

The wine was harvested between September 1-10, 2021, and aged for 9 months in French oak barrels (33% new and 67% once- and twice-filled) to enhance its structure and complexity while maintaining the delicate balance that defines fine Pinot Noir.
