Vineyard History
The Leonardini Vineyard, first planted in the late 1800s, has a rich history. After periods of various uses, including grazing land and a proposed airport site, it was replanted to Cabernet Sauvignon in 2014 and 2016. The vineyard utilizes two different rootstocks and three different clones chosen for their excellent track record for high quality.

Winemaking Process
While specific details for the 2018 vintage are not provided, Whitehall Lane employs modern winemaking techniques under the direction of winemaker Jason Moulton. The winery updated its winemaking and barrel aging program and introduced a scientific approach in the vineyards.

Vintage Notes
The 2018 vintage in Napa Valley was characterized by a near-perfect growing season. Bud break began in late March to early April, followed by a mild and dry spring. The summer was warm and long, with a cooling effect near the end of the season. This consistent weather allowed the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to reach perfect balance at harvest time in late mid-September to late October.

Accolades
Accolades for the 2018 vintage include 93pts from James Suckling. Whitehall Lane has been honored three times by Wine Spectator Magazine for producing wines rated among the top five in the world. The winery has also been voted Winery of the Year by Quarterly Review of Wines and Wine and Spirits Magazine.

## Winemaker

With a diverse background in winemaking across the globe, including experience in Napa Valley, Russian River, Canada, New Zealand, Bordeaux, and South Africa, Moulton brings a wealth of knowledge and new ideas to Whitehall Lane's winemaking process.
