Taste
This Chardonnay opens with lifted aromas of green apple and lemon zest, layered with a subtle briny minerality and hints of honeyed beeswax and freshly toasted brioche. On the palate, vibrant pear and citrus zest lead, followed by touches of honeysuckle and savory nuance. The texture is creamy yet precise, finishing clean and refreshing with lingering notes of Bosc pear and delicate almond.
About the Winery / Winemaker
Saviah Cellars sources this Chardonnay from Stillwater Creek Vineyard in the Frenchman Hills—one of Washington’s most respected sites for cool-climate whites. The vineyard is Salmon-Safe certified, and the fruit is handpicked and whole-cluster pressed. Slow fermentation in French oak with regular lees stirring builds depth and mouthfeel, while careful secondary fermentation ensures balance and freshness rather than heaviness.
Why We Love It
This is Chardonnay with intention. It’s textured but not heavy, expressive without being flashy, and beautifully food-friendly. A great pick for drinkers who love white Burgundy, Chablis with a touch more generosity, or Washington whites that favor balance over excess. With only 226 cases produced, it’s a quietly special bottle.
Vintage Notes (2023)
A strong vintage for Washington whites, delivering excellent ripeness while retaining freshness and structure. The result is a Chardonnay that’s approachable now but clearly built to age.
