An elegant sparkling Chenin Blanc from the heart of the Loire Valley, this non-vintage Brut from Vigneau-Chevreau delivers crisp orchard fruit, fine bubbles, and the chalky finesse of classic Vouvray—with all the charm of Champagne at a fraction of the price.
Taste
Delicate aromas of green apple, pear, and acacia blossom give way to a lively, mouthwatering palate. Notes of lemon zest, golden apple, and subtle honey are lifted by vibrant acidity and a fine bead. The finish is long and dry, with chalky minerality and a touch of toasted brioche from extended lees aging.
About the Winery/Winemaker
Vigneau-Chevreau is a fifth-generation family estate in Vouvray, farming biodynamically since 1995. The domaine is known for producing pure, expressive Chenin Blanc across a range of styles. Their Méthode Traditionnelle Brut is crafted from estate-grown grapes on flinty, limestone-rich soils, fermented in bottle in the traditional Champagne method and aged on lees to develop complexity and finesse.
Why We Love It
This is a go-to sparkling for fans of dry, mineral-driven wines. It’s refreshingly crisp, impressively elegant, and endlessly versatile—from festive toasts to oysters and roast chicken. A serious overachiever in the sparkling category, and a beautiful expression of Chenin Blanc’s potential.
