Behind the Wine
Since 1626, the Trimbach family has been crafting benchmark Alsatian wines, with the estate now overseen by the 12th and 13th generations. Their Gewürztraminer is sourced from hillside terroirs on the sub-Vosges with soils of shell limestone, dolomite, and marl that date back to the Triassic and Jurassic periods.
Following manual harvest, the grapes are delicately pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats. True to the Trimbach philosophy, the wine undergoes no malolactic fermentation or extended lees aging, preserving its natural acidity, freshness, and vibrant fruit character. After bottling in spring, it ages a minimum of two years in the cellar before release.
Perfect Pairings
This versatile Gewürztraminer shines alongside spiced dishes from Asian and Indian cuisines, soft ripe cheeses, and white fish preparations. Its aromatic profile also makes it an excellent match for Alsatian specialties like Munster cheese, choucroute, or onion tart.
